A Day for Rememberance

I still remember vividly where I was on 9-11-01 when I heard about the tragedy.
I remember the horrific destruction, and all that followed.

Now all these years later, while the tragic memory still lingers, hope also endures. The 9-11 memorials are very inspiring to me.

I believe they represent our nation’s enduring spirit.

And the hope for our better future.

I think most people will remember where they were when they heard the news. I received a phone call at work from my daughter, who was home sick, that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. That’s all she knew. I thought it was a small plane, until I couldn’t access CNN or any other news site from my work computer. I quickly told her to put on the Disney Channel or Cartoon network – something without news. We put the TV on in our conference room and everyone sat glued to the TV. All I wanted to do was get home to be with my daughter and grab the other one from school so we could all be together. Unfortunately my office was on lock down and it was many hours before I could head home. I was never so happy to see them both as I was that day. So many things changed after that…
